London is a wonderful place to live, but every once in a while I wish it was just a little bit quieter. For just a few hours, once a year, London stands still and you can explore the city as it would be if all the people had disappeared. Just around dawn on Christmas morning there are no buses, no cars, and the only other people around are out taking photos of abandoned streets. Fortunately it was a mild morning with a clear sky and, by the time I got to the Thames, a lovely orange sunrise.
