Stag in winter

I took a turn around Knole Park in Sevenoaks. The National Trust controls 100 acres (which is a pretty big area) but there are over 1,000 acres open to roam (which is an absolutely huge area). I kept to the paths near the house so some of those acres will have to wait to be explored another time.

Luckily for me, many of the deer like to stay near the house too. They are not afraid of coming quite close to visitors, but in the end the photo I was most pleased with was from a long distance away. I liked how the leaf-fall on the gentle hill opposite provided a natural backdrop to the stag, making him stand out on what was a rather overcast afternoon.
